Several years ago, I was trying to find a name I would be happy with, to represet a small business or consultancy entity. I wanted it to reflect my appreciation of solid, sturdy design, both in hardware and software. I'm comfortable with GUIs or command prompts, and like to keep legacy systems running. I have over a decade of experience in IT training and general education of youth and adults, as well as the jack-of-all-trades support issues that frequently come up in small businesses.
So I settled on DosWorx, since it immediately harkens back to the days of disk operating systems, floppy drives, and memory management. I created a logo that's bold and simple as well.
As of Nov. 11th, 2007, no other entries were found in the USPTO database
or 411.com's business listings for the U.S. for DOSWORX or DOSWORKS.
The name DOSWORX does appear to be in use outside the U.S.
(1) for an internet cafe chain in the Pacific Rim,
and (2) as websites, with non US domain extensions.
